Embarrassing yet completely normal "learner driver" moments!

Let's face it, learning to drive for the first time can be a pretty stressful experience! With stress often come awkward moments of utter embarrassment- which believe it or not- are really quite common! Can you relate to any of these?

# 1- You forget your left & right!

That's right! The instructor said "turn left"... and suddenly it's like you don't know which way it is, so you take a lucky guess, and off to the right you go! No, you're not loosing your mind... this is more common than you think! What's worse, this one can come back to haunt you long after you've passed your test!

# 2- You sweat like crazy!

So you're in the car, and your heart is beating as though you're running the London Marathon and you're thinking, is this normal? Yes, it really is! Your adrenaline is pumping, especially in your first few trips on the main road.

# 3- You "miss" the gearstick!

Now this one quite possibly tops the list.... You put your foot down on the clutch and reach for the gear stick, only to find it's your instructor knee...

# 4- You have nightmares about stalling!

The first time you stall the car, you get this sharp pinch in your stomach because you can't seem to figure out what the hell just happened. That feeling, it stays with you each time it happens, and whats worse, it becomes the one thing you fear most until you figure out how not to stall!

#5- You can't use the steering wheel properly

What you assumed to be the simplest part of driving, turns out to be a bit of a challenge! You soon realise that watching how people steer on TV is not quite the way things go! And you end up- practicing at home with a plate!

#6- You're afraid to check your mirrors

Eyes on the road.... means checking all your mirrors at the right time. So for the first few attempts, you practice what can only be described as micro-second mirror checks - and you feel like "flash" learning to drive!
