The DVLA recommends a minimum of 43hrs of private tuition lessons however, each student is different. Some learn to drive quicker than others, and so there is no specific number of lessons which apply to everyone. Your driving instructor (Debbie) will let you know when you are ready for your test based on your lesson performance.
You can book your driving test by visiting https://www.gov.uk/book-driving-test.
Standard test prices start at £62 and vary depending on the day you book for. Please note some test centers are busier than others and may have limited availability.
If you choose to use Look & Learn for your driving test, a charge of £65 applies which covers a 1 hour lesson prior to your test as well as the use of the car during your test.
There are advantages in both manual and automatic driving styles.
AUTOMATIC DRIVING:
Automatic cars are becoming increasingly more popular. Lessons tend to be more expensive but it is easier to learn to drive an automatic car. However, if you choose to take your driving test in an automatic car, you will only be permitted to drive an automatic car.
MANUAL DRIVING:
Manual Driving can be seen as more difficult. The advantage of passing your test in a manual car is that you will have the ability to legally drive both an automatic and a manual car.
There are many ways in which you can prepare for your test.
The DVLA website offers theory practice tests which you can take online through the link below:

Another popular way to practice is using a Theory Test Practice phone app. At Look & Learn, we recommend the "Driving Test Success". The app can be downloaded (charges apply) through your phone and includes multiple choice questions and hazard perception including videos. More information can be found here:
